@@equestanton1017 yes it’s a strange one, a lot of these horses seem to come and go and Florentina is no different. But she does still appear on CD’s website so she may reappear some day

@@harveywetdog Not so strange, many vanish because of injury. Dressage is incredibly repetitive and riders don't always allow for horses to properly repair wear and tear on joints and ligaments to build a sound foundation for each step up in difficulty. I noticed Flor is incredibly uneven in passage in her hinds here, this didn't stop the judges at all. Ah well, maybe Dujardin has done that herself now.

Yes you are correct it’s not strange although perhaps the reason I used that word was because this was a comeback for Florentina and some horses don’t even get that chance. I’ve been writing and talking about the rate of attrition in young sport horses for some time now and understand exactly where you’re coming from. @@harveywetdog maybe??? Having said that, she strikes me as a person who grew up around the finer things in life. My point is the "upper classes" and their never ending cruelty. So ingrained and tolerated by the British.

I don’t think one would describe Miss Dujardin as “upper class”, certainly her finishing school was the school of life and not in Switzerland Unfortunately elite dressage is all about wealth (money), not class; the two are very different. And you are correct having wealth and no class can produce some truly awful people, as Harry Enfield’s character illustrated. But I fear cruelty can exist anywhere across the social spectrum and is not restricted to any one group within it

@@harveywetdog it is predominantly the upper classes, not exclusively. And as for Switzerland...there is plenty everywhere. This is Partygate, this is " too big to fail" , this is grenfell towers, this is an amalgamation of wealth and power...us and them. And you are doing precisely what I said first..."indirectly" defend them, so ingrained, so tolerated.

@smellslikethinice1107 we agree on so many things although we possibly disagree on what the definition of upper class is because if you’ve ever spoken to her that isn’t the descriptor that comes to mind But I definitely agree on “too big to fail” and I will not defend the indefensible
